about The Work of Byron Katie
The Work is a way to identify and inquire into stressful beliefs. By anchoring in a moment in time, we investigate the stressful beliefs we are noticing with four questions and ‘turnarounds’ –opposites to the original stressful belief –, and we witness the answers that arise from within to meet the questions. Through the process we gain insight into cause and effect and become aware of ourselves and others in new ways. It is a gentle and powerful way to meet and move through the confusion that we experience when we argue with reality.

Why choose to work with a facilitator?
The beauty of The Work is that you can give it to yourself. You have everything that you need to do the Work on your own. Sometimes it can be helpful to work with a facilitator, if, for example, you are new to The Work, and would appreciate some guidance as you familiarize yourself with the practice. When you find yourself struggling to hold the space for yourself, a facilitator can support you in staying anchored in the inquiry. It can also be very healing to reveal to another person the thoughts that burden us and to be held and seen as we meet these vulnerable parts of ourselves. Making a commitment to meet with a facilitator may also be a way for you to hold yourself accountable to your desire to do The Work. If this is your heart’s desire, let’s do The Work.

“I have been doing The Work with Hanae for a couple of years now. Quite regularly. Her facilitation is light, almost invisible, like a breeze made by the wing of a butterfly. It’s not even a guidance, it’s just a witnessing of your journey. At its base is deep and patient, open and honest listening. And she is always keen to celebrate with you all the insights, discoveries and love that The Work brings… Actually, the whole session with Hanae is a pure and natural celebration of awareness.” VL
